I emailed Koni USA directly about getting my double adjustable shocks and struts rebuilt and this was their reply:

"The cost is $165 each plus parts. Parts can run up to $100 per damper. You can send them to
1961A International way.
Hebron, Kentucky 41048
Att: Rebuild
Include a note in the box with what you want done and all of your contact info."

When I called them later about getting my current set of dampers rebuilt to be double adjustable, they quoted me $400/ea for the conversion which didn't include rebuilding them. So it would be $565+parts/ea.

Sometime in the next couple of days I am going to call both Koni and Tru and see what they have to say.

I have waited and waited to do this. But I think I might have to buy something to bolt on while they are gone off for redo .

Did any of you make valving changes etc? And how about springs ? Mine still rides at least well on it 28 year old 474s.

Good 951 thread. Thanks .

I did not make any valving changes. For springs, I just kept the ones I already had. Mine are the 951.343.531.01 Group 2 (2 yellow dot).

Thanks DSM. Mine are yellow I am pretty sure - I havent looked in a while . But that might be a good idea for me to get the car on the lift and get a part number so when they ask me what I have now.

Unbelieveably my 1986 951 is still sitting at the same ride height measured at the rockers and is only about 1/10 of an inch or less difference left to right . And I am uhhh heavier ... lots of years does that LOL LOL.

The springs don't have a part number stamped anywhere on them. I found it out through the FSM. If yours are different and you don't have the FSM, let me know and I can look it up.

I may do that . Thanks .

I can probably get some time now too. I just bought a brand new Ford Boss 302 Mustang in Go Daddy Got to Have It Bright Green tonight. That rascal has some serious GO in it too.

Very cool! The only way to top that would be to get a Laguna Seca Mustang. Got the car mostly together, just have to install rear shocks, both sway bars, bleed the brakes and get an alignment. Only ended up with one lock nut without a home! Full pics on a new thread tomorrow I hope.
