Post where is oil cooler? leaking coolant

ok im leaking coolant but i dont know where from, i just see the drip drip is actually on the bolt on the right side of the car under the radiator where the crossmember connects to it, or whatever it might be called, perhaps thats actally the skid plate. in any case, im just wondering if its actually leaking from the oil cooler because i just had a new one installed. otherwise, im crap out of luck since i need to go back to school on monday with this car.. <img src="graemlins/crying.gif" border="0" alt="[crying]" />

upon further inspection i now see a little puddle of antifreeze under the back right corner of the big plastic "box" that says 16ventiler .. i always thought this thing was a belt cover- guess not? i still dont actually see where its coming from but its either coming from this back right corner or from the antifreeze resiviour itself.. i see antifreeze in it but not up to the min or max at this point.. uh.. maybe its leaking out of that front tube connected to this resiv?

either way i need to put in more if i wanna get it to a mechanic, say. so.. what kind of antifreeze should i go with? as everyone can tell, i am highly clueless wait i didnt just smile there we go.

ill just keep talking to myself..

i looked one last time to see if i personally could figure anything out..

few more things, the curved tube right behind/under the plastic cover/box in the front of the car was disconnected from its source.. there is a sticker on the cover that says something like "when refilling coolant disconnect hose" and it shows a picture of this 90deg angle hose thing.. i guess i can just pop it back on.. its just some sort of air hose?

secondly, back to the bottom right of the plastic cover/box.. where the metal side clip of it has a "trayish" bolted piece in the back, thats where i see coolant building up and then eventually pouring over to the ground i guess. theres a hose right to the right of this thing that just sits there and has no end, its just resting there, is this some sort of pressure release hose? this is okay right? i follwed it up to a place where it becomes metal and has a red little screw that says H on it. so thats that?

im just going to leave the car in the driveway, nothing more i can do eh? i hope some auto shop is open tomorrow so they can take a looksee.. im totally baffled and totally upset. i still dont know why the battery is dead.. maybe the fan decided to run after i shut of the car and it never stopped? thats all i can think of..

oh please someone help

ok im going to talk to myself some more
here is a picture of where i see antifreeze building up.. or a little puddle of it resides here.. or something

this is not my 944S, i forgot to bring the battery home for my camera so it is useless, i found this picture on ebay and just drew a red circle around the bolt that holds the metal angle/brace that then goes under the big plastic box/belt cover and inside the car toward the front and thats where i see green antifreeze.

I would guess that your coolant resivoir is leaking (a common problem), based on the picture. If there is oil in the coolant in the resivoir then you have big problem, also if there is a sign of coolant in the oil. The box that says "16 Ventilier" is the air box that holds the air filter. The clamped end goes into the air flow meter. The other end that disappears down into the front of the car is the air intake. You should probably be ok to drive to get it fixed if you are gentle and keep it filled. Beware of letting the oil level get low as that is what leads to rod bearing failure.

If you are uncertain, take it to someone. That box is your 'airbox' It shouldnt have any coolant in it. Tom is right, your oil cooler is on the other side.

Good luck.
