Post Review: OMP 1010 pedals

Hi.

I got them last week and installed them last night (1987 951).

The pedals are good quality, seem very strong and are attractive.

The supplied screws are long enough for the clutch and brake pedal, but not long enough for the gas pedal. The gas pedal is plastic honeycomb, and the screws are not long enough, and anyway you need to add a washer to each screw on the backside and these are not supplied.

The curvature on the castings does not fit the curvature of the brake and clutch pedal exactly, there's a little "rocking" until you tighten the screws real hard.

My main beef is with the brake pedal. Because it has a protrusion on the side nearest the gas pedal, it effectively makes the brake pedal move over towards the gas pedal about a quarter inch. Consequently my foot hangs up when going from the gas to the brake with my right foot (OK, I have size 13 feet, but still)... I will need to trim the existing pedal, before I mount the OMP, to restore the needed clearance between brake and accelerator pedal. I am sure it will be fine once I trim it, but I'm not sure how to do this with the pedal mechanism in the car. A sawzall? Jeez....

My experience, my 2 pesos. Take it for what it's worth.

I like the OMP pedals, I just don't like having to trim the existing brake pedal.

I also purchased the OMP pedal set and installed them last week,I had the same results as far as mounting, the supplied hardware worked fine for the clutch and brake but had to get longer screws and add flat washers on the gas pedal.I am not having the problem with my foot getting stuck, maybe because mine are 11.5?I do agree the quality is very good and they look great!1987-944S

A grinder or cut-off wheel would be better either on the pedals, or your feet

Well, I crimped the brake pedal edge and mounted the new pedal at an angle, that runs visually parallel to the accelerator. It is perfect from a functional viewpoint. Feels perfect.

The new pedals have a really nice grip. I like it!
