Post Valve cleaning

I've just removed the valves om my 951 head, and found that the exhaust valves stems are all coked up....

Can anyone give me some advice how best to clean them?

The valves are stainless steel and pretty hard. You can use a fine grade of steel wool to clean them up, with my personal favorite being Brillo. Don't work them too hard - a little coking on the valve isn't going to affect performance dramatically.

I understand that the TurboS had slightly larger exhaust valve-stems? Has anyone measured how much larger? What's that for? More sodium for more cooling?
