Post Turn signals/Air Bag Light

Forgive me if this has been hashed out before...but a search of the archives didn't yield an answer. I removed the steering wheel on my 968 (followng the directions given on www.944s2.com) so that I could take a look at my turn signal stalk (lever won't return in one direction and won't latch in the other). After exposing the cluster that houses the turn signal, wiper, and cruise stalk, I couldn't figure how to pull the unit off the steering column. Giving up on this, I reassembled the
wheel and airbag but now have an airbag light that will not go away. Two questions:
How do you the remove lever housing? and would disconnecting the airbag require the airbag module to be reset? (by the "hammer tool" for a 968 i guess) Also,in need of a turn signal/cruise/etc. unit when I finally am able to remove it.Thanks for any advice.
