Maryland beer night/get together
With all these mushy friendly posts going around, a thought came to my head...why don't all of the rennlisters in the MD/DC/northern VA area get together for some drinks and tearing up some backroads (not in that particular order though)? I know they have done it in atlanta, and it sounded like fun. If somebody wants to suggest a date, time and place to meet up, I would be down for it. Annapolis comes to mind as a fine place with lots of quality establishments and decent twisties not too far away, and it is about equal distance from baltimore and washington, and not more than an hour from most of northern VA depending on traffic. Anybody?

I might be up for it but it would have to be on a Friday night or a Saturday during the day or something like that. I live in Annapolis so I am obviously in favor of the location to meet.

I'm not sure about the drinking and then taking the cars out on the twisties. But I would be willing to get together somewhere, where we could get all the cars in a parking lot and swap info.

. Beer + backroads + porsche = broken car. Of course everybody should excercise caution and be safe, but I do not see anything wrong with drinking 1 or 2 beers and then calling it a night...well...so long as you don't weigh 75 pounds. Backroads first, then beers .

Lots of good roads up here in northern Baltimore county too -- and considerably less crowded than AACO. But, I have no real preference - I could do either!
There sure does seem to be a lot of Marylanders and south-PA 944 owners around. Just yesterday, I saw TWO 951's on the same stretch of beltway. It made my cry that I was in my truck and not my own 951.

I have hosted several Northern Virginia Beer nights through Rennlist, however none for about 10 months, turn out was not bad. We used to meet at Champs in Reston. I have just had no time to organize any more of these lately but would be happy to send a note to those people that usually attended if that would add to you gathering.

Hey I have a question...
Maybe you all in MD and Northern VA would be willing to maybe meet somewhere in mid VA, or maybe even South? I'd love to attend, but I'm in NC, an hour north of Wilmington. Don't move then entire deal just for me (unless you're really nice
) but maybe if there are others.
I have been all over the NC PCA website and stuff and I can't seem to find anyone in my area. ARE YOU OUT THERE???

As an Annapolitan, I vote for Annapolis
Thinking, thinking, thinking. Friday nights might cater better to us locals, while Saturday would be better for everyone. Ribs, Max, you guys have someplace in mine? I'm trying to think of places with adequate parking (not downtown Annapolis).
One place the comes to mine for a Saturday, is the Bay Beach Club (outdoor decks, pool tables, band) on the eastern shore, just across the bay bridge. I think they open around 1pm, so we could meet then, for show and tell, and then wander in for some music (bands usually start at 3pm)

I would like to attend. I just got a new set of Dunlops and the cab is begging me to test them out. I'm in Silver Spring, so just keep me in mind when a time and date are decided. Thanks

I would be willing to come down from CT. I am actually heading to the Chesapeake Bay area on Labor Day Weekend and would love to get together with some of you folks then.

The Bay Beach Club would be a great venue for all of us to get together. Plenty of parking and easy access. How about this Saturday or Sunday? We could meet in the Annapolis Mall parking lot, go for a drive and then cruise across the bridge in a group.
Around 1 or 2pm? Let me know what you guys think. If everybody can't make it this time we can always do it again. We could try to do it once a month or so if it catches on.

The Bay Beach Club is nice. Unbeknownst to me, I already had a beer night out there, too bad I was about 2 months early and I was the only Porsche there, I did get to see ribs' 951 though(on the highway--he was going about 140-150 mph in the other direction)

This sounds like a really really cool idea. I just wish I had my 944 (Still looking to buy one). Hopefully I'll have it in time for the next one. Even though its probably close to 4 hours from here, I'd probably drive down anyway, unless theres a group of people in eastern PA who would like to get together for our own beer night?
