Nine..teen THOUSAND RPMs!!! Oh how I almost forgot how GOOD F1 is. It's like going with out sex for a while then you remember why you missed it sooooo much!
EVEN in a 2001 car, he showed them who's boss! Gota love it!
And you can't ignore Toyota! WHOA! Nice to see some new blood.
If today is any example, this season's looking pretty sweet, I can hardly wait!

Nice to have F1 back again. Here in Finland we are looking for how McLarens young finn Kimi Raikkonen will do during this season.Another finn is Toyota's Mika Salo.I think Toyota will not be top teams during this season.

THere is NOTHING like that angry whine of HIGH rpms... I liken it to an angry bull pacing back and forth huffing and puffing to be let go if you dare. <img src="graemlins/burnout.gif" border="0" alt="[burnout]" />

About F1 - on Dan's P-car video they talked about Porsche racing for the first time in F1 (I'm guessing it was back in the mid-90's). So what's the deal? Did we ever race in F1? If so, I'm assuming we didn't do very well...?

Matt- Porsche DID compete in F1 (Late 80’s early 90’s… something like that, I need to check my sources)
...Anyhow, the long and short of it is, they failed miserably. From what I recall, it had to do with lack of power and reliability which is surprising since that's always been Porsche's strong points.

Porsche made engines for McLarens. They were 1.5 liter V6 twin turbos, that made over 1000hp, and spanked everything else on the track. They called them "Tag Turbos", as Tag Heuer was a sponsor. There's a photo of one on the Huntley Racing website.

Alain Prost Drove the Mclaren Tag Porsche to the Constructors and Drivers Chapionship in 1986.
Yes, Porsche has been there and done that, hey they even been to Indy a few times. Furthermore Porsche also had the built the 1962 Typ 804 F1 (Raced in the 1961 F1 season I think), Plus the 4wheel drive Cisitalia. The Typ 935/75 was the engine used at Indy in the early 80's it produced somewhere around 630 hp @ 9000rpm,

Now I recall, it was Indy they tried and failed at. Not F1 as I previously stated... Time to brake out all my Prosche racing books and get a refresher.
Sorry for the missinformation gents.
