One factor depends on your timeline more than anything else. Parting out results in a carcass that will have to be disposed of one way or another. If is runs, sell it as is locally. E-bay can be a PITA if one has to arrange pickup, delivery, etc. Take the cash and run.

Another factor is what is really wrong with it. If it can be fixed and put in proper running order for a few bucks (not likely with a 944), then you might be able to ask a bit more.

Further, trading it in, unless there is the PITA effect, is counter productive. The dealer will come down less on the price of the car being purchased on a trade. A cash deal is always best from the overall cost factor.

Of course, you could always donate the thing if it is really that bad and take a tax loss next year.

Good luck!!

Sell it locally. Put an ad in Autotrader, and be prepared to take a financial hit because it needs (apparantly) major work. The car IS twenty years old - you're not talking about a big price differential for "good" vs "not so good" shape to begin with.

Trade-in won't give you anything at all for the vehicle.

Parting-out has that carcass-disposal hassle as previously mentioned. If you're good with a acetelene torch, you can cut it up and haul it to the local dump a few pieces at a time.

GT,

What precisely is wrong with it? I've always had a soft spot for 924s.
