+1 on Van's videos!

Finished the belt job and whipped the car around Lime Rock the next day with Van as my instructor. Still going strong after three track days. Just done by feel.

That being said, car is at Speed Sport Tuning in Danbury getting some work done and I have asked them to retension the belt using the OEM tool. I would say less than an hour of a mechanics time is worth the engine.

I have seen posts where the author has stated that sometimes it can take several hundred miles before the tick goes away. I know that when I reassembled my engine, it took running the engine several times for about a half hour each time before the tick went away.

That makes me feel a whole lot better. You hear all these horror stories about what could happen if you f up the timing belt.

Well for $20 you can get the proper tool. You can use it then i will give you $12 when you are done. So it will only cost you $8.

Deal?

when is the last time you replaced the tensioners and rollers? They will start to click before they fail.
