CV Joint replacement guide.
Would it be worthwhile for me to create a guide to removing/replacing you cv joints? I would use good digital camera images to illustrate. I'll be doing mine this weekend and wanted to try and make my first "guide".

I would appreciate any additional information that you can offer. Although this is an often ~discussed~ topic, I have yet to see any really good photos of critical parts (especially the so-called "triple square" or 12-point driver that is needed for the job).
I say go for it!

Asolutely....
I'm building up to the same job and pondering whether to replace just the CV's / boots or go with the axle combo replacement. I've heard the latter is a simpler job although obviously costs more. Mine's an '89 AT with 150K miles.
I think there are some written guides out there - but pics would help a lot.

I did mine a couple of days ago - make sure you get good pictures of yourself smothered in grease - that's what makes it sooo much fun.
Keep that tool square in the bolt head! I look forward to the photos.

Oh yeah, for anyone contemplating it, don't worry too much, it isn't that hard to do.
Mark the alignment of the parts if they are just being cleaned, make sure the workspace is clean, be patient and don't attempt to rush it or you WILL pay.

Yes i've enjoyed the process of taking the cv's apart and repacking them with grease. Thats the reason I purchased the entire axles so I could just bolt them in. I will go ahead and take apart a cv joint though and reassemble it. I would have loved to know that you could only insert 4 bearings at a time then add the other two...
