Post Timing Belt Roller '86

My '86 951 seems to have a timing belt roller from a '87+ 944 installed. I ordered a new roller with part number 944 105 273 02, which appears to be the correct number of a '86 roller. The '86 roller has a diameter of 32 mm and is steel. The roller that was in the car has a diameter of 46 mm and is nylon. Can anyone give me confirmation of the correct size/material for the t-belt roller for my car.

Thanks as always,

Steve

Steve,

The nylon cam belt roller was part of the update for the early cars which also included the chrome belt guide with the new style water pump, also cutting the inner timing cover to clear the new pump.
