I recently purchased tie rods from a supplier that I have used and always been pleased with in the past. He had told me that the tie rods were supposed to be manufactured by Lemforder and made in Germany, however, when they arrived on Saturday they were Federal Mogul and made in Switzerland. Are Federal Mogul quality parts? Should I insist on the Lemforder? Thanks -

Federal-Mogul manufactures oem parts for nearly every auto manufacturer in the world (including BMW and Porsche). I would not be concerned about the quality what-so-ever. Federal-Mogul actually is a client of mine so I have an intimate knowledge of the company.
