clutch TO bearing 88 944 turbo s
I am looking at buying a 88 944 turbo s and when the inspection was done they said the clutch TO bearing is going. They said you can tell this by intermittent vibration in the clutch. The clutch is worn about 50% they told me this is not something to wory about and it could be changed when the clutc is changed. I would like to know if it can hurt anything and if the vibration will probably get worse as time goes on.

It depends on what type of vibration you are talking about. You can tell if the TO bearing is going by the sound it makes as you slowly depress the pedle. you can hear vibration. Now if the vibration is coming from the engaging of the clutch then that is clutch chatter and that has to do with the Pressure Plate and the Flywheel as well as the clutch. You can drive with clutch chatter but it is annoying and things will wear out a bit faster. (uneven surfaces) i hope this helps.

Ok but you still didn't answer the question. Lets just say either way I want to know if it can hurt anything else except making the clutch wear faster and will the vibration get worse as time goes by. The car will not be a daily driver and I would like to be able to get a year out of the clutch before I have to replace it.
Thanks
