Many many moons ago I had reason (carved the sidewall of a rear tire on a metal plate covering a hole in a road work zone) to use my space saver spare. Worked fine.
Last year I had reason to use it again, but I couldn't get the bead to seat on the side of the road with the littel Porsche-supplied compresser (grrrr). Ended up getting a ride and the "real" tire fixed.
When I got home, I used a "real" compressor and seated the tire and filled it up - I can see that the tire is rather asymmetric now and doesn't look like it would EVER seat again with the wimpy compressor.
It's basically useless now as a space saver. If I leave it inflated I might use it if necessary.
Any ideas what happened to this tire? Is this common?
