Question Turbo cooling fan/pump

How does this fan and pump work? Is it activated by temp. or time. I read that you should use your A/C to cool the engine because the A/C activates the second fan.. Is this true? My pump is always on after I shutdown the car, but the fans are not. It appears that both fans run only if the temp. climbs.

Thanks,
JohnK

The turbo pump has a timer on it and should ALWAYS be on for approx 30secs after shut down, flow water around the turbo bearings to cool it, very importnat for incrd lifespan.

The fans function such that 1 fan will always be on when the ac is on. When the car is hot then both will come on. ~After shut down if the car is hot enough for the fans to be on (with the engine running) then they will continue to run but at a slower speed (not much point in them being on cos they aint cooling much, since no water is flowing thru the rad!).
Hope this helps
