Unhappy Follow up to my transmission breaking.

Well, i took it into my mechanic, and after taking a look at it it was unanimously decided i need a new transmission (manual) So, my options are:

1) Let him put in a tranny from an 88 924 he took apart a few weeks ago. about $1000

2) Let him do a rebuild, with a warranty. $1100+

3) Sell my car broken.

4) Get it fixed and then sell it.

5) Part it out.

right now im leaning towards getting rid of it. Im getting ready for college and would like to have something a bit more practicle. But, my car is in good shape other than a busted transmission, and could last me for quite some time (32k miles). What do you all think?

I would take #2, especially since #1 isn't actually possible (unless you have a turbo).
