Post What do you think?

Just got access to a digital camera so took a few pics of the work in progress here(my son's car)...What do you think?

Just have to bleed the brakes, get an alignment and it is back on the road..The body is this winter.

I tried to post a pic but no luck

WOW! Very clean car. What year is it and what have you guys done to it. I can't wait for the day that I get my 944 back into shape.

It's a '78 924...and the list of stuff is long...funny how it didn't start out that way but it has taken on a life of it's own...It's been great fun.

So far...rebuilt the motor with new 9.3:1 pistons, added a cam from EBS racing, magencor wires...New koni yellows all around, new front bearings & bushings, converted to 4 wheel disc fom disc/drum including new m/c, new front and rear cross drilled rotors, brembo upfront and ATE in the back (they were cheaper than regular rotors here???), PBR metal master pads...

Also added a hatch with spoiler from a 944, Dunlop sp9000 tires (rear 225/50/ZR15,front 205/55/ZR15) on newly refinished phonedials...

It's been in my garage since winter, ...We'll get it out just in time for winter again.

Wow, that really is great that someone would put that much into a 924. I have not seen any 944 owners on here that have put that much attention to detail into their cars. Most are more interested in their interior while some (myself included) just concentrate on keeping the darn things running.

I love the red paint. It reminds me of the "Red Head" Ferrari Testa Rossa's from the 50's. Did you do it yourself? If so, what kind of paint did you use? The look is very elegant.

Wow. That's a lot of pictures of the engine bay. I hope you're going to complete the project with the Saratoga glass hood.

Hi Michael and thanks...It looks pretty good dosen't it...It runs even better...The red and chrome you see is actually powder coated...I love the stuff...I can't belive the gloss on it myself and it is a lot more durable than paint...Brake fliud doesn't even disturb it...I know cause I tried to remove some using brake fluid and it didn't even dull the finish...

Best of all...I did it all myself in my garage...I didn't take one piece to a "powder coating" company...

I bought my gun from the Eastwood Company but if I had to buy another I would buy it from Brian at Columbia Coatings ...I got the red and chrome powder from him...Great Stuff

Mike, Very impressive. I especially like the powder coating and am wondering if you used it to do the Phonedial wheel restoration? I went to the Columbia coatings site you mentioned. If you did use powder coat how do you heat the part? Tell me it's as easy as the kitchen oven? HOw did you detail the center cap? Was this a hand painted job? It looks good so how can I duplicate? Thanks in advance for any info -Dan
