Newbie question here. How do you go about converting/installing manual latches? Only one of my sunroof motors works, and with Summer approaching I would like to have the roof off more often.

 

Just install the back latches from an early manual sunroof. They bolt up in the original locations if I remember correctly.

I'd get used ones, try Lart first. I know 944online.com sells them but I know you can get them cheaper if used for around $100.

I just finished the initial fix/refresh of a 944S for my bro-in-law. when we were trying to get the sunroof out, was a bit confusing.

it would only open/tilt slightly and stop. I pushed up on the roof and it tilted all the way up. we removed it as we were going to take a ride with the top off. I made the mistake of lowering the rear arms.

when we got back and went to put the top on, the little arms would not come up.

what I finally figured out is the center front tab must be pressing on the little button in the headliner pocket for the pwr roof function to work.

got it back on.
