For an NA 944 daily driver, the Bosch Platinum +4's make sense. They essentially are a platinum 4 electrode version of the plug provided with the 968 (which had 3 ground electrodes). Note that these plugs are not approved by Bosch for turbo motors, not sure why but I'm sure that they have their reasons.

Just add me to the list on the Platnium +4's. I used 'em in my '88 na, use them now in my 968, and use them in my Toyota 4x4 p/u w. 3.0 V-6. No problems, and good performance.

Julian, the reason the 4's (or other multi-tip plugs) are not recommended for turbos is that they have a lot of metal mass on the plug tip. This mass heats up more than a standard design and can apparently cause premature detonation.
And there are a bunch of N/A cars don't like multi-tip plugs either. The bottom line is multitips are not the answer to all plug worries and frequently going with a standard plug is the best for a particular engine.

I had a 90' Cavalier Z24 that was the sweetest Cav in the city by far,(classy, not like those cheesed up ones), man did that thing sound good with a Dynomax exhaust... Anyways, before I go to far with the memories, I did a few tune up on it and I put splitfire plugs in it. Then I heard of the AC Delco rapid fires and put them in,(as you all know AC is the stock manufacturer for Chev), and they were way better. So my advice is to stick with the best Bosh's you can find. I have heard that the copper is a bit better than the platinum, so give em a try!!

I have been running with Splitfire platinum tip spark plugs for a couple of years and they work great. You do notice a little extra "kick" after you put these on. A little expensive @ about $6 or so each but worth it. My car is a 86' 944

I had a similar experience to your cavalier experience...i had a 90' grand am with the quad 4 H.O., which was a pretty quick little 4 cylinder....but that's another story..anyways, i used the rapid fires in it, which ran noticably better than any other plug i tried (it was extremely picky about which plugs it liked)...a few weeks ago i thought i'd try a set in my 951...no such luck, the car started missing around 4 grand...so i just put a set of the cheap bosch's in it, and it runs great...so i agree, stick with OEM!
