Replacing balance shaft oil seals

I'm about to replace the o-ring and seal (I guess that's plural if you consider that thin piece of plastic a "seal"). I'm looking at the lower balance shaft on an '86 NA 944. I have the engine at TDC and I have everything marked so it will go back the same way. Does anyone have adivce / tricks / links on how to do this right? Is there anything else I should get while I'm in there? How far am I going to have to go in to get to the seals- just take off the pulley? the back plastic cover? the metal cover in front? the metal cover on the side? Thanks.

Greg,
There's an excellent procedure write up on this job at http://porsche-944-garage.tripod.com/ in the 944 Garage Shop Manual section. All the stuff you mention has to come off along with the power steering pump mount. I'm going to do the same job this weekend.
I've already done all my belt rollers, water pump and stuff, but you may want to consider those if they haven't been done.
Also, the biggie here is retensioning the balance shaft belt and the cam belt. The cam belt has to come off to get the front cover off.
Careful with the cam belt tension.
