Question Need info on wheels

I am buying a set of 17" Turbo twist rims for my 944. With that said I have a set of 16" phone dials in excellent shape with new Yolks on them with less than 2k on the tires. Just bought the tires. The cost of the tires I have what would the rims resonably go for? I am going to list them for sale but have no idea what to sell them for.

Please advice.

Thanks in advance for the information. <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />

The 86 turbo phone dials seem to be the ONLY ones that hold a premium but not much. I can get rims with tires for $400 all the time. just look around in the classifieds and draw your own conclusion.

Unless you have to have the money---keep them. A second set of wheels and tires comes in really handy for lots of reasons. I'm just starting to auto-x and I'm finding that my phone dials are actually of more use to me on the track than my 996 wheels. Plus I don't have to worry about damaging my expensive wheels while learning how to drive faster and more competitively. Believe me, clipping a cone at 60 mph tends to leave a mark.

I think you made a great choice by the way, I think that those wheels look fantastic on these cars. Are you getting the Porsche ones or the aftermarket? What size tires are you putting on them? Are you putting them on this weekend? Post some pics afterward, it'll give me an excuse to throw a picture of my car up so that we can compare how they look on silver and red cars.

Cool

I WAS OUT BID!!!! But this does not stop me from getting the rims I want. Sence i was unable to get the ones on ebay I will just buy the aftermarket look alikes. they are a grand also i will go with the wider style. 17"Still I think 18 are simply to big. I will post pics however it will be an unfair comparison. My car is in the shop now getting the fiberwerks front end put on it and i am going to have the 968 mirrors and door handles put on as soon as i can get my hands on a set. fresh coate of paint and two clear coats later and a new windshield to boot. take a look at my ren list web page to see all that has been done or is getting done. In any case I think I just might keep the rims and tires for AUtoX thanks for the suggestion.

Cool

I'm looking for '86 951 wheels. How much do you want just for the wheels, no tires?

Tabo II, you're probably right. I actually bid up a little higher than I wanted to, but i live within 20 miles of this guy so shipping was essentially free. Seems like until this week, there haven't really been a lot of used 17" wheels. That's another reason why i bid up quite a bit.

Good luck on your search for 17's...i can promise you that i won't be bidding on another set.

I have a set of 17" 993 Cup wheels with Sumitomo HTRZ's on them. The fronts are 222/45/17 (80 to 85% left) and the rears are 255/40/17 (250 miles on them). Spin balanced with the color inlay center caps. Rims aren't perfect, but that's how I got them in October. I'm not real thrilled with the way my S2 feels with them on so I may be going back to the D90 16"er's. I have $1350 in the set as they are right now. Interested?
