Default Koni Sport Suspension Upgrade Kit M474. Ride Height?

Hello people.

http://www.944online.com/cgi-bin/ASI...spension-944s2

How can I add height adjustment to this setup? I'd like to adjust the ride height depending on what I'm doing. What kind of ride does this give compared to the original S2 setup?

thanks

You could go with a koni coilover kit.

Yup, but Im a little confused. All the kits I see say "inserts" not included. I thought the kit included the coil over kit, a shock, and a perch. For somebody who doesn't wrench this is very confusing. there are like 3 different kits. Ground control also has a kit but again there are several and they have different springs.

You don't say just what you are planning to do with your car. A coil over set will cost you more than $1,400.00. Since you found a Koni set on 944online why don't you call, Ian, free at 1-866-944-7883 and ask him. He will answer all your questions and not tell you wrong.

Cheers,
Larry

Hi, If the H&R springs are too rough and they lower the front 1 1/4" - 1 1/2" go back to normal springs. The rear can be re-indexed to lower the car. I have the Koni Sport front and rear, but they are set at the softest settings. I'm 73 with a bad lower back but I still like the feel. They give a firm feel and ride to the car, but anything over stock shocks/struts will give a little harsher ride.

Cheers,
Larry

Does anybody have any pics of this setup? Pics of the height of the wheel arches?

My 86 N/A had the M456 suspension from the factory. It is slightly lower than a normal car in the front.
This is the only good picture I have of it. Factory 16" fuchs and tire sizes.

Ah thats actually pretty nice ride height. For some reason my stock S2 setup was much higher than this. Is that normal for S2s? Did the S2 ever come with this setup? I think mine had the Sachs setup. That might be higher. Hmmmmm

I've got 18s on my S2 by the way.

You are probably aware of this but just to reiterate, when you change height you are also changing your alignment settings, it's not something to constantly change unless you can do your own alignments afterwards. Just something to think about else you'll be spending a fortune on alignments. Also, manual alignment at the rear is a pia with those 3 bolts, the eccentric and those sway bars in the way.

You can reset the camber quickly if you have plates fitted but camber plates will transmit some extra noise through the chassis, not much but noticeable.

Finally, when lowering keep an eye on those a-arms at the front. You need them parallel to the ground, don't have them pointing up at the wheel or if that is where you want your height set, think about fitting a geometry correction kit to get them level again. GL

My sig picture is factory ride height with m474 suspension. There really isn't ride height adjustment with that, unless using lowering springs. With h&r, there are options. If using race, you could go with sport or street sport, which are less agressive.
