924s suspension rebuild
Just purchased wheel bearings from pelican and am trying to figure out what to do with the rest but Im having some trouble figuring it out. I know I need bushings, dampers, balljoints etc. My first question is, are cheap control arms from automotion well made and to exact dimensions? I want to buy control arms so i can put in new bushings and ball joints without having to take out the old stuff.
I do not mind a stiff or harsh ride, i have daily driven cars with full urethane and even heim joints for years. Looking for a good solid street/weekend track setup that has long term reliability and not overly adjustable and high maintenance.
I am searching and learning a lot on here about these cars but could not find any info about the automotion front control arms, so thats what this post is mainly about.

I would get Konis all around. They are 20% off right now at Paragon Products. I would get new control arms from there as well. I believe they carry poly urethane bushings as well. Maybe a set of new springs and torsion bars would be best.
My old 924 I lowered 1 inch all around, New strut inserts and new shocks, along with all new bushings. It handles great. I used 200 lb springs up front.

I got the skf ones from pelican, it says they are oem supplier and has a german flag next to it, it was between those and *** bearings so i just picked the more expensive ones..

The other suppliers sell the Mexican junk bearings. So out of interest, I ordered mine from the Porsche dealer to see what I would get. The inner bearing was from Japan, known to be a good one. The outer was from India, ugh. I don't know how that compares to the Mexican or the SKF. The SKF sure are reasonably priced.

I would hope pelican is selling quality products since they are kinda known for porsche and bmw parts. I would rather not have to change them again in my lifetime so I hope they are good. Im steadily going to be going over the entire car, should I make a thread that way I can post updates and ask the occasional question without making separate threads?
