Post Remanufactured DME/ECU - Feedback needed.

DME... a new unit costs US$1,150.00 if you live outside of Oregon or Washington Sunset Import has it for US$920.00. Ouch!!

What is the experience with remanufactured DME/ECUs?? That is just a used DME taken from a trashed car or it is a TRUE remanufactured unit???
I would hate to throw my money away in a DME that will only last a few months...

Folks here that have changed their DME units. What route have you taken? From what source did you get your new/remanufactured unit?

I will open mine one more time and check all contacts... but I think that I will have to replace it anyhow...

Thanks in advanced for you feedback!

Since basically every 944 DME computer fails at about age 15, buying one off Ebay is a gamble that's unlikely to fix anything for more than a couple weeks or months.

I bought a remanufactured DME computer from Foreign Intrigue and they are in fact remanufactured. Of course they slather the case with that dark grey paint so I swapped its guts into my case. Foreign Intrige gets these computers from some rebuilder here in the states - "Fuel Injection Services" or something. It was around $400 plus a core.

It performs like brand new. No more cutouts, stalling, and the car starts right up. I am completely happy with it.
