FWIW I plastic dipped my sunroof. I like it. It was looking ruff anyway, and now I don't have to be nearly as careful when I take it off and toss it behind the seats. Never thought about doing the whole car but sounds temping.......

I've heard that prolong exposure of plasti-dip on the clear coat can cause hazing and a need of a cut n' buff would be in order to restore shine. Granted I hear that's from months of exposure.

plasti-dip
I say Go For IT. My son plasti-dip'd the roof of his Cobra and it has held up nicely. He also did 2-tone wheels which have also held up quite remarkably. I'll post pix if I can find them (although it's not a P car; would probably get reported!)
If you are not already familiar with Fonzie, check out http://www.youtube.com/user/DipYourCarcom?feature=watch
He is the MAN when it comes to Plasti-Dip.

Don't know if you saw this pics, but this is a PD car in their light blue that was for sale on CL locally.
I have PD several sets of wheels and all have held up great. I would stay away from dipyourcar if you are looking at them, much cheaper ways of doing it.
By the way, the stuff that comes in a rattle can has UV inhibitors that the gallon stuff does not, so be careful what you buy if you go this route...

Wow, that's exactly the color and look I'm thinking of. Thanks for the pix. Really I would think the opposite...gallon stuff is better than rattle can (UV protection, etc). I think I want to do this. I don't mind "wasting" a few hundred bucks and a weekend of my time. Seems like fun.

I keep the car outside but covered. It will only see "day light" a few hours a month. Hopefully not enough UV time to cause any reactions. Never the less my paint is not that great anyway so who cares? That's why I'm leaning towards the plasti dip route in the first place.
