early DME on 89 2.7

Default early DME on 89 2.7

I have a no start issue i'm trying to track down and was wondering if I could
hook up a DME from my 85 car just to check my fuel and ignition system?

I *think* you would need the matching early AFM. I don't remember the exact year of the DME/AFM switch over to what is considered the late style.

Early DME works with Early AFM. It is not mapped right for the 89 2.7. You might get it to work half a$$ed. BUT, what is it going to do to the rest of the electrical engine systems?

Well thats why i asked i dont care about half asse'd right now I just want to see if I get spark and fuel
so I can rule out the possibility of a bad DME
