Oil pickup gasket too loose?

I've been having a good go at my car this long weekend and have come across a sticking point: The rubber ring that goes around the oil pickup tube to make sure it doesn't just suck up air... is loose?
It's got about a mm of play in it around the pickup tube.
Either I'm going mad, or I've managed to find the wrong seal. Is there another seal in the engine that is almost exactly the same in appearance to this seal?
944-107-136-03 is the part number it should be. Unfortunately, in my delivery, this seal did not come labelled.
*note, this seal came in my Victor Reinz Short Block Gasket Kit/Crankcase gasket kit.

The seal in the Victor Reinz gasket kit is not like the factory seal. It's a clear piece of tubing less than 1/4" long (or thick). It doesn't look like the correct seal, but that's what VR supplies. Once you bolt it up you'll see that it seals pretty well.
