Post Cleaning porsche interior

Okay, taking a look at the interior of my car today, thinking that it could do with some "sprucing up" ; (black leather, black carpets). Anywho, was wondering what cleaning fluid everyone recommends? On previous cars I have used Amour-All, but have heard some say that it may lead to premature cracking of the dash etc. Is this true? if so, is it a particular chemical contained in the formula or what? So what do other owners use? Thanks in advance for your suggestions/comments.

I use Mothers on the leather, Gliptone Protector on the dash, and Mothers Back to Black on the exterior trim, including the spoiler. I also use a sun shield for the dash when I'm parked all day.

Mal, I am supposing that Mothers is the brand name of the cleaner? and where would I purchase said cleaner, is it available say at Wal-mart or K-mart, or do I have to special order it. (sorry have never heard of this brand before). And the Gliptone protector, can this be bought at the same place? Thanks for your help it is much appreciated

Visit carcareonline.com. They have specific product recommendations for vinyl, leather, glass, rubber, etc. I think they are the best independent source for int/ext detailing products.

Pamela:

Armor All is bad stuff. Lexol products are great -- Vinylex for vinyl, and Lexol leather cleaner and conditioner for the leather.

You should be able to find Lexol product or Mothers at most chain auto supply stores, like Pep Boys or whatever you have in your area.

Autozone carries a lot of good car care products. Eagle One, Mothers and Meguiars brands are very good and are all sold there.

Cool

pamela,

hows'it?? this is kyle your hawaiian neighbor. i use mother's back to black for exterior trim too, you can get it cheapest at wal-mart in mililani. and i am trying this interior product by meguiars. i have had excellent luck with their exterior products, i thought id try it on the interior. i have seat covers on my leather seats, but you can treat them with a good product in a brown plastic bottle, sold at wal-mart and k-mart. i forget the name...any help fellow enthusiasts??

oh, and should we tease others in the holiday spirit freezing unmentionable body parts off, that it was 89 degrees out today?? probably not, that wouldnt be nice!!!

I used to use the Autoglym range of car cleaning products, but then I saw a web offer for a start up pack of Zymöl stuff.

I wouldn't go back (sounds like a washing powder commercial!!)

Zymöl is expensive, but you get what you pay for in this case.
