I need new brakes badly, and want larger rotors, but I need larger rims- I have a Turbo S w/stock Clubsport 16" rims. I like the looks of these better than anything else out there (for a 951), but, they don't come in a 17". There are only a couple other rims I would consider and the 968 17" rim (Wheel Enhancement calls it a C2) is one of them. Has anyone ever weighed them, or known anyone who has? I've been told that they are EXTREMELY heavy(?)... I know most 968's had the same rims, but in 16"- if someone knows the weight of them, even, it would help. WITH or WITHOUT tires- EITHER would help...

The other two I'm possibly interested in are the "twist" rims (17x7.5 and 17x9) and the hollow spokes. However, I believe the HS's only come in 18"- that would work, but ONLY if they were EXTREMELY light and reasonably priced- not likely to be the case... I would appreciate knowing the weights of any of these if anyone knows, or, could tell me where to look to find out(?)... Any input would be greatly appreciated...

Robby, if no one else has an answer, try calling wheel Enhancements or one of the other wheel specialists that advertise in Excellence. All I know is that the stock 16" 968 rims are a bunch lighter that the cheap 18" Italian repros... and that's not news to anybody.

Thanks guys... I have the site Tabor refer's too, bookmarked, and it makes me wonder what the actual factory rims would weigh even moreso. As for Wheel Enhancement, they say the 968 rims are about 5lbs heavier, each, than the Clubsports from a Turbo S, and that the replicas, are much heavier than that. I beleive the part about the replicas, but it's hard for me to believe that the factory's would be so much heavier than the Turbo S wheels. That's why I'd really like to know from someone who actually has a set on, or from, a 968... Oh well...
