One of my fog lights went out and I know I have to get an H3 bulb but I don't know if I should get 6V H3 55W or 12V H3 55W or 12V H3 100W or 12V H3 130W. What are the brightest legal bulbs I can get? FYI I have a 1988 944 N/A.

First off, 12 volt. It has been almost half a century since most cars have run at 6 volts. ![EEK!](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
Are you sure it is a fog lamp? If it is a wide and low beam pattern it is a fog. Then the legal bulb for that lamp can't be over 55 watts. And from a practical standpoint you don't want it over 55 watts because it won't work as a fog lamp anymore if you overdrive it. Too much light backdazzle off fog and rain drops into your eyes which will close up your pupils and wreck night vision. And the fog housing may not be able to take the heat of a 100 or 130 watt bulb. And you should rewire the light system if you are going with 100 watt bulbs. Need any more convincing?![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I'm all for using overwatted bulbs when appropriate but this it not the application to use them in.
