Post I almost cried watching the 951 burn/Fuel rail hose??

I have seen a red 951 on the same road as I work on. Last week he contaced me through seeing my personal profile info on this list. We agreed we should meet sometime. This morning I am driving into work and what do I see on the side of the road with black smoke pouring from under the hood. Dan I am sorry. I pulled over beacause I had to mount an extinguisher in my car for my first drivers ed next Friday. The fire was allready well underway. Too late. It got me thinking about the fuel pressure line. Wasn't there a recall on the high pressure rubber hose to the fuel rail because of engine fires. Anyone know any info. I will replace it.

Here's the part number for the new replacement fuel hose for the recall: Part Number 944 110 413 02. It is the small 8" hose in the middle of the rail (on an NA), connected to the pressure regulator. It is not one of the two hoses that come up/return to the fuel tank.

The number is visible on the hose, as I confirmed that I have the new hose on my car.

This recall applies to the 924S, 944 and Turbo for various years, including 1988 (I believe it effects 86 and 87 cars as well.)

The 944S has a different issue with the fuel rail itself, not a hose.

Get Turbo Tim's stainless lines. They look great and are much safer than the factory lines.
