Has anyone picked up one of these, "Complete Engine Rebuild Kits" from Zims or Vertex...Do the kits come with everything needed for a rebuild...

Skip..Does Paragon offer a similar kit?

Only if you are trying to replace all seals and bearings do they come with everything needed. If you have scoring in your cylinder walls, you will most likely need oversized pistons and machine work to your motor (+$3000 or more). If you need to get your head done, add $600 for a basic job. The rebuild kits come with all the necessary bearings and seals though.

Heads are about $300 to rebuild at most shops if nothing it to seriously wrong. Count on $595 (Garrity) for a port and polish along with compression increase.

I've heard bad things about both Zims and Vertex, although I do not have experience with either in terms of rebuild kits. I'd go genuine porsche for the rebuild kit if it were me.

When you order a kit be sure to let them know your year and the engine number if possible. That'll save you shipping back the odd bearing or two.

Let me know what you find on prices I might be able to help you.

Not a "kit" per se, but certainly the staff knows enough to get the parts you do need.
