Gauge Pod
Well I finally got the gauge pod installed! Keith there is still a gap at the widow on mine from the bottom of the VIN plate down. I tried to take a pic but I couldn't get anyhing decent with the reflection of the glass. Anybody else get theirs installed and have the same gap?
It is very tight in there to get the gauges mounted! The VDO gauge was hard to reach but the bracket for it worked. The Nordskog A/F gauge mounting bracket was too wide I had to make a new one. A bracket to support the back of a radio worked real well. The holes lined up on the bracket for the mounting studs then i bent the bracket right pass the gauge and cut the bracket to length.

Thanks lou951. The pod is attached with 2 screws the one above the top gauge lines up with the factory hole the one up top I had to make my own hole. Yes I put a soft T in the line goint to the KLR I think it was 7/16" that fit over the KLR line and the 1/8" line to the boost gauge. You can get get the gauge pod here.

tazz - I have that gap, too - try trimming around the VIN plate, as I believe that is what is holding it out from the pillar - also, I noticed the factory pillar on the other side does the same thing, at least on my car.
BEWARE - don't overtighten, I pulled into a driveway at a parking lot and the flex CRACKED my lower pod...

That sucks sorry to hear about that keith! I hope LO-Tek will give you a replacement one. My car has a smaller gap on the passanger side also. I'm not going to worry about it. It lines up with the dash nice inside so if you try to make it go back it will mess up that line. I'm happy with the product so far.

The area where the bulge is, I can see inside the gauge from the outside. If it were flat, the gap would be too small to see inside.

Dan - I'd try re-fitting that - the black strip on the perimeter of the windshield should conceal any "deviations" from stock from the outside - perhaps it's not tightened sufficiently at that screw?
BTW, I drilled my top hole first, paying attention to the trim fitment at the top, then slightly widened the hole in the middle and installed the screw there.
I'm going to remove and try trimming a notch fro the VIN plate, will let you guys know how it works...

Adrial the DME is inside the car under the front passengers feet. I did run into the engine compartment for the O2 sensor. I went up into the fuse box on the drivers side then drilled for a gromet to get out of the fuse box towards the ceter of the car. I then took the brake line gromet out and made a notch to fit the wire trough to get it into the engine bay.
Keith my opinion is if you make the pod not have a gap at the window it will screw up the line where it meets the dash.

I should make it a habbit to think before I go crying for help... I was thinking of the DME relay, not the DME itself...
While I'm asking stupid questions, any special kind of wire I should use to extend the wires on the air/fuel meter to reach the DME? 18 gauge stranded? I would assume so as thats what the stuff on there already looks like..
thanks,
Adrial

What AF meter are you using Tazzmann? Or where did you get those guages and how much. That's a sweet looking set-up you got there.
