had also seen this 944 turbo project, and picked that up last Monday. this one will take a while as I need to complete the installation of another motor. plan is to make this my DE/track car and retire my 911 to top off pleasure driving.
my wife thinks I am crazy, but due to the influence of her frugality I treat my 'Porsche disease' with older ones that I can afford to pay cash and do all my own work ... so far.
if not for her influence, would have a GT3 and be in debt up to my eye *****.
good luck with your new project.

Ditto on the Fikse look. My 1st p-car ('89 951, black on black) was set up with 17" FM-10 hoops. Sold it to my cousin in 1998 who will not give it back even though he has not driven it in 10 years

got the 944 tubo from S Indiana, just across from Louisville, KY
I wish I could move my 17" Kinesis from the 911 to the 944 turbo but pretty sure the offsets are different.

Damn it man!
Saw my 1st. 968 in Bremerton and almost bought it. It was a Tip and luckily a retired submarine skipper who was a really bigwig at the shipyard bought it. I baught a 6 speed from a jackhole in the SF area. As I was getting ready to leave Wa. in 2010, I had my car at MaxRpm for an alignment and the skipper was there having them order parts for the transmission and the busted up front bumper cover.
I later bought a Tip and enjoy both cars.

Got into the valve cover last night. The cam chain rubbing block (at least the upper one) has zero to little wear. Just the faintest hint of a groove. At 140k, this must have been replaced at some point, yes?
I'm going to replace them (pads/chain) anyway since I'm such a freak.

Great story and looks like a great find too.
