Question Should both fans come on when testing the fan circuit? - Please Answer

Yesterday I tested my fan circuit by unplugging the two wires that go into the thermofan switch, and connecting them with a jumper wire. The driver side worked, but the passenger side did not (even with the AC on). Should both fans go on with this test?

I am trying to isolate the problem with my passenger side fan, the motor is good, but it does not turn on - Thanks for all responses -

Do you have access to a wiring diagram?

Does anybody else remember? I dont have my WD here at work.

I've got an 84 944 that's got a lot of electrical problems. I've found the wiring diagram in the Haynes manual to be invaluable in figuring out stuff. (If someone can tell me where to get a better diagram though, I'd like to know). With an inexpensive voltmeter and a continuity tester you can figure out a lot by tracing the circuits. The wires in older cars like ours are subject to corrosion and bad insulation. A little detective work will pay off. Good luck.
