Odds are there is a long block in your car

Short block=Block, crank, rods, pistons, usually Oil pump, pan.

Long block adds at least the head, and can be anything up to a complete engine. Usually everything from the intake manifold gasket to the exhaust manifold gasket.

Based on your explanation, I would tend to agree that I have a long block in my 951

Also based on your description he majority of my short block got replaced during my rebuild last winter.

Rebuilding the short block is also known as a bottom or lower end rebuild.
