Just about anything that'll transfer spark will do... in a basic sense. Stock wires are fine, 8mm wires are better... but of little consequence on an otherwise stock engine. No experience with MSD wires, but you should try to find some that use the OE-style BERU plug ends (doubting MSD does). Much better and cleaner fit, and are designed to be used on your engine. Parts store bargain wires should not really be considered. I have Kingsborne 8mm wires with OE Beru ends on my 86na. YMMV

There are huge wires out there (10+mm), but anything over 8mm is not particularly useful for your application.

Good Luck!

I am real happy with the Magnecore wires from Winward Performance, about $70.00 and nicely made,8.5mm and a nice red color.
