944 S2 versus 89 911 c4
Currently have 89 S2. Been considering an 89 C4. How do the two compare with maintenance costs? I've done the timing belts/water pump/clutch/master cylinder. I currently need to charge the AC.

Dear Peter,
You are trying to compare chalk and cheese. I own a 944 and a 911C4. No comparison. Maintenance costs are higher for servicings. You need to have special equipment to maintain a C4. The C4 is not a DIY Porsche however if you want one, go for it. Mine is also a 1989 K series C4 and you will not regret getting one.
If you need more advice on PPIs, what to look for, what questions to ask, please let me know privately.
You can pop across to the 964 Forum and ask the question and you need to listen to the C4 owners. We feel we are an honest bunch.
The C4 needs tender loving care. It is a very sophisticated Porsche and it can be frustrating sometimes and parts can be expensive to purchase but at least no water pumps to worry about, or radiators, or thermostats etc etc. 12 spark plugs though.
Ciao,
Adrian
