Fiberglass Fenders

Fiberglass Fenders
Hi:
I found some fiberglass fenders from GT Racing that are a lot cheaper than the factory steel fenders.
Has anyone purchased from this company?
GT Racing Products
They make fiberglass and carbon fiber body parts for our cars. The prices for the fiberglass parts seem cheaper then their steel counterparts.
Any thoughts on the pros/cons of fiberglass?
Comments, please, on the seams lining up correctly, painting process, paint fading, etc...
Thanks,
sm

GT makes great stuff.
(IMHO)It never "looks" as good as steel. My body man says it can... but it takes alot of work to get it there.
FYI - The GT carbon fiber stuff is not solid carbon only a "layer" ... probably not worth the extra $$$.
If you're extremely particular regarding the fit and finish of your car you may not be happy with the end results of glass.
All that said ... I will be using GT fiberglass stuff on my race car ... it is a race car and I'm not all that particular with fit and finish.

You can get a used fender from Oklahoma Foreign or Ians Europarts for about $200-$300 in near perfect condition. Genuine Porsche fender. I have done it, and it is a much better way to go. You can get lesser shape ones for less money, buy they will need more prep work.
