Pressure wash engine wont start!!!!!!!

Red face Pressure wash engine wont start!!!!!!!

1986 951

Hey guys i sprayed my engine today at the car wash it crank up i let it run for about 2 minutes and then i started on my way home when i noticed when i hit boost it would bog down when i parked i left it on and about time i got out the car its started to sputter so i hit the gas and poof it died i took the distributer of and dried it and still nothing any idea's pleases help me

okay i unplug the plug that goes into the throttle body and then the one closer to the airbox now it cranks it had a little water on it but still when i hit turbo or floor it it bogs down with a lot of black smoke little help guys somebody has to know!!!!!!!!!

My guess is that you probably got the speed and/or reference sensor connections wet. Try unplugging them and blow them out with compressed air..

did you use an evil de-greaser... check alll grounds.

Pull the distributor cap off and dry it out, do the same with the TPS connector. check all the vacuum lines while you're there as they might have come loose with the water.

spray wd-40 inside plug connections and disrtibutor cap. this will dry out the moister.

Pull the carpet up in the passengers footwell and check for water... just in case there is a leak from which got to the DME. Also verify the ground connection on the DME. This happened to my S2 when I tried to pick it up from the PO for the pre-purchase inspection. It turned out that the PO had washed some dust off the engine bay and battery box area. Drying out the DME and cleaning the ground fixed the problem. --Roy--

List the car for sale and get a new one. This will usually work!

Check the spark plug holes for water. When I pressure sprayed my engine water would collect there. Because of the water the spark will jump to the head rather than ignite the gas, hence the rough idle.
