AGLA shift boot
I'm looking to replace the shift boot in my '86 951, and I'm wondering if anyone has had experience with AGLA, good or bad. Any other suggestions on a source for a good replacement (burgundy)would be appreciated.
TIA,

Colin,
I just had my steering wheel re-finished by AGLA. They did a good job on the re-covering(the leather is very supple), but it took FOREVER--about 2 1/2 MONTHS! The first time my wheel came back some of the stiching was loose. They did take it back and re-stitch and now it does look very nice, but in hindsight I would probably fork over the additional 150.00 and have gotten a 930 wheel. I don't know if this helps or not.

I installed an AGLA shift boot on my 951 years ago. Couldn't tell from stock and lasted longer than the stock one. I agree though, you have to play with the shift pattern trim piece to get it right, but that's all.

Dunno if it's the Alga brand, but you can get a perfectly good replacement from Zims at www.allzim.com (I suspect Paragon, has it also).
Takes a bit of patience & finger strength to work the top over the ****, and a good whack on a piece of soft wood with a hammer to re-seat the shift pattern button.
AFAIK, all the stock interior colors are available.
