I was going to try some G-Tech runs today, but I couldn't even get the car to take off correctly, I was trying not to launch, so I tried starting, I give it a little gas to put it at 1800 or so, then floor it and pop the clutch simultaneously, the car seemed to just flat stall out, gain it's bearings then RIP OFF and still get 6.0's and such. The only decent start I got, I got a 5.50 displayed. So, I try actually launching the car, just as I would the 944, no matter where I launched it, the car would go UMF! and almost come to a stalling halt and finally it'd hop up and go. I tried progressively going up the RPM band until I got to just over 3K, and the car wouldn't even go after that, it'd just spin it's tires through first gear in about 1 second, and redline in second spinning it's tires. I duno what's up. Only thing I could think of is a VAC leak that's not directly connected to any BOOST. Does this sound like a symptom of a ****ty airfilter? I'm REALLY trying to do some 0-60 and 1/4 times WITHOUT launching at all, just sitting at idle punching the gas and letting off the clutch at the same time, maybe revving just a tad so it doesn't wanna choke up.

All I can gather from this is that when under vacuum, it's being starved for air(clogged up filter, or vac leak?). Then I don't notice it under boost.
(clogged up filter, or vac leak?)

Under 2 grand these cars are slow, before the boost hits the 951 is slower than a N/A.
I think thats all your experiencing.
In my car if I give it too much gas in 2nd or higher below 2000rpm the car will start shaking..but that could be motor mounts as well.
The right way to launch the 951 is to rev it to 3000 or so, maybe 2800 or 2600...then let the clutch out to the engagement point...let it slip for a second, then dump it the rest of the way. something along those lines...
Don't beat the crap out of the car, please
Let the clutch live a little will ya?

good luck!
If you want the 0-60 time to be under 5.5 you need to feather the hell out of the clutch. This is why I dont launch my car. (I am hoping a quicker spooling turbo would solve this problem.)
