I'm having some problems with my 1983 944 stalling and also periodic starting troubles. The conditions are very simular to vapor lock. Can anyone provide any advice?

sounds like a sensor problem.. check the archives.

Boxer ; need some info.
1 do you have spark , fuel.
2 if it starts ,does the engine race and then stall or does it just not start.
3 what have you checked out or done to try to fix it.
4 auto or 5 spd.
5 does it do this when at idle or while moving and then coming to a stop.

Try adding some some injector cleaner in your next tank fill up, maybe they are blocked up a bit and giving fuel starvation problems ?

Intermittant starting and stalls can often be traced to a faulty DME relay. By stalls, did you mean the engine cuts off during regular driving?
