I do not want to LS this one. This car is too clean and the engine is one of the quietest I have owned. I am not that much of a purist, but clean originals are getting a little hard to find, especially at a reasonable price.

A 948 is definitely on my short list of things to build.

Howdy..
Can I ask what intangible driving attributes the 944 ( which I love) offers over the 996?

Apart from the form factor ( golf clubs, wife, baby seat and suitcases), the slightly improved mileage, the engine accessibility and relative simplicity..

What would i miss when I drove my future 996?
( besides IMS/AOS/RMS fears)

I am seriously seeking your opinions and not stirring the pot.
Danke~

Welcome back to the 944 world, but would tell you to just drive the 996 and enjoy it. There's a great value to these forums, but also can breed paranoia that you're just waiting for the failure that you read about to happen. It's not like the 944 is without its weak spots also. Low mile 996 engines are $6K these days if your IMS lets go or just change the bearing and enjoy it.
