Post Castrol Syntec

I was talking over things, and working out a final price with the person I'm buying my 944 from, and he mentioned that he's been using Syntec 5W-50 ever since he's had it, about 25k miles. He doesn't have any leaks, and doesn't really have to add much, if any, between changes. I haven't heard anyone on here talk much about Castrol, and searching the archives didn't show much talk about it either.

This is an 85.5 NA, I'm buying it with about 125k miles, and just looking at what to do for first service, and whether I should change out the oil for something different, or stick with what he's been using. Anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks.
