Post Clutch?? Need Help

Last night after driving hard at 80-100 MPH for an hour we stopped to get a bite to eat. Afterwards I told my wife to drive and told her to shift to third at 5500 rpm instead of her usual 4000. Well she couldn't get it into third. So we switched seats and I tried shifting but didn't do much better. I did get it home but it's not well. I do have an Authority short shift that could have come loose but I did use locktite on the threads so I doubt it. Is this a sympton of the clutch going??? Any other clutch I burned out the friction plate went and the clutch just slipped. ThANKS for any help/advice

Could be master/slave on the way out...first step would be to bleed the master/slave clutch cylinders.

As far as the autothority short shift....if a bolt worked itself lose, depending on the bolt, you'd either not have lateral control of shifting (ie no effort to move left/right and doesn't return to center, can wiggle all the way left and right even when in gear), or no control at all (IE move the shifter wherever you want with no effort).

Good luck...

Finally faced it and got in the Porsche to try it cold this AM. It shifts great without the car running, still shifts great with clutch in while running in driveway. BUT doesn't work well on road. The gear shifter also vibrates now. HELP THANKS

Hi TF

Please give model & year & Mls

Check tranny oil level, shifting is very funny without oil.
Rubber center clutch? How old?
What about the master / slave cylinder?
Swampy clutch feeling?
Cheked brake fluid level?
