I have been without my '83 944 for about 10 years now and I have been searching for another 944 for a few months. I have driven to see 6 so far and every one of them has the hatch delaminating from the frame. I'm figuring that this is something I will have to deal with and want to factor it into the cost of initial repairs. I've read the various posts about repair but this is something I don't trust myself doing.

Is anyone aware of a shop in Georgia that performs this work? If not, anywhere near GA?

I have done this repair and it is time a labor intensive. I would pick up another hatch. I have seen in GA for $100. Try Josh B, he is in Norcross and is on RL. He may even have one now as he is parting an NA.

Just sold the last one I had for $50 but i'm sure there will be another that will come along

I had a place in Kansas City fix mine. Guy cut out the window cleaned up the frame and glass, reprimed both the glass and frame, then resealed the entire thing. Start to finish he did it in 2 hours.
