UPDATE: Good News Everyone!!
I used the information given to me by bordin34 HERE on the transaxle already installed in my 944 and VIOLA, the gear selector rod returned into the neutral position and thus is able to now select all gears. SHE LIVES AGAIN!! Couldn't have done it without the help of the members here. Thank you all.
Now, I have (2) dead transaxles in my garage and (1) that appears to be good, LOL. I should open a 944 transmission shop.
Anyway here is a video of the proof:
