Talk about a dated tread pattern. Hoses and such might be toast. Maybe the fuel tank too.

Never knew everything had a zinc look (coating?) as new. And - proof that the earlier coolant expansion tanks came yellow from the factory, as opposed to popular belief.

Nice sport seats too. Wonder what's up with the VIN being invalid?

Should go in a museum. Or driven across the country!

Take care!

I am guessing that zinc-looking coating is in fact Cosmoline.

Scary to think that it's never had belts changed... it's never had the brake fluid flushed... it's probably never had the oil changed... At best we're talking about 6 tanks of gas...

I've give tree-fiddy for it!

I get the impression that it's never going to be driven...probably shouldn't with that mileage. There cant be more than a handful..outside of actual Porsche, in existence. Cool to look at though..wonder what's it's worth...more than when it was purchased?

Porsche should buy it back...

I'd say - yes. all the parts are there. factory slippage marks in the right places. sport seats with the script inserts are faded to about what you would expect for a garaged car. Tires may or not be original Dunlop's, hard to tell. The dead give-away to the low milage is the lone hot spot on the muffler. I'd say it's a virgin. Never been f##ked with and never rode hard and put up wet! I think a collector could bid twice the 12K bid and still come out ahead. I wish I was in a position to buy.You won't see one like this in a long while. I only know of two others.

That is awesome just to know one exists like that. If it was a late model or turbo, I'd be all over it- can't imagine the price it would go for in that case though

I would guess that any expansion tank that is in a car that has been driven(even if only rarely) will have the yellowing from dealing with hot coolant. Only way to get a definitive answer would be production line/new car photos showing the tank before use or with little use when the cars were still new

It may have been maintained but regardless, if you did buy it you would have to either spend more money replacing all required items or have it as a static display that you never dared start.

I just hope who ever buys it gives it the love it will need so it can be preserved in its current mint state. It makes me want to fit the fuchs back on mine

ok...belts need changing....tires and fluids...a little refresh job...not a big deal...but imagine buying it and think about it...a new sports car for 12k...TODAY !

A few years ago the factory built a 924 turbo..i think it was for the museum..but it costed them ~30K euro.

I love how these time capsule cars come up on classified sites, yet they poster cant even take the time to write a good description. To me this seems like a waste of a fun car. Sure its preserved history, but to go thorugh the work of storing a car and letting it take up space seems like a waste of time. I own some rare and valuble cars and I like to use them and get them out so the public can see them.

hmmm...nice looking car, but that looks like a lot of loc-tite on the bolts connecting the front . Would the factory have had that much on those?

If not, I wonder about the mileage. Maybe the struts were changed at some point from just sitting for so long or maybe it's a higher mileage car that has taken care of and cleaned up very well....

(obviously I have no affiliation or knowledge of the seller, so I am just speculating here)
