Default Clutch Master Cylinder, rebuild DIY kit???

Hey guys. After almost 2 years but around 40k plus miles looks like its time to change the master cylinder again. Plan to change the slave out same time (same age/miles) and the lines (never changed these myself).

The question is, who here has rebuilt the master cylinder themselves? I certianly like to do things DIY. But would like some 'been there done that' advice from the 944 Jedis here.

Yes tried search, didn't find much on this.

For those who don't know, my car is a road warrior daily driver. Average around 500 miles per WEEK. If there is a vendor that by some miracle offers these with lifetime warrenty I certainly would consider it.

Any and all advice much appreciated. Thanks for looking and have a great weekend.

Considering that the new ones are only $90ish i'd just get another new one. I'm sure its annoying that they keep going out, but rebuilding is just as risky IMO.

Sponsor 944online may have the solution.
Here is the DIY on the slave rebuilding:

NAPA has had the rebuilding kits as well.

Begin by checking the bore. Any pitting or scoring is bad and the rebuild will not last.

My slave was OK but like Arominus mentioned, I bought new.

Buy new. Not worth the hassle of it having some sort of problem and having to pull it again, and again (Read a few threads like that), and you won't have wonder (usually) if the part is bad... watch what brand you buy too, sometimes cheapest isn't always best.

I'm curious to know why the clutch MC would require replacement after such a short lifetime. Something's not right in that.

Does anyone know the bore size of the master cylinder?

I'm about to do this job after I find out what size hone i should use. 30 bucks for a rebuild, and 25 for the hone is still cheaper then new. It's all gotta come out anyways.
